Rob B&W.jpg

My name is Robert (Rob is fine too!), and I am Cambridge born and raised.

My interest in building, DIY, and fixing things goes back to childhood and my clever, “Fix-It” father, and eventually lead to my co-founding a self-build group that built thirteen, 3-bedroom houses in Trumpington. The development became Lingrey Court in 1983 when the first of us moved in.

In 2018, estate agents Cooke Curtis & Co. described Lingrey Court as: ‘a little-known, secluded

location, tucked back off Trumpington High Street and accessed from Anstey Way. It is home to 13 houses, designed as a whole scheme in the 1980s but each individually built by their owners. The care taken in each of the builds remains evident today.’

After that, I combined an office job with a lot of DIY and decorating/repair jobs for friends and family. Then, a few years ago, missing being "on the tools”, I undertook the complete renovation and modernisation of a two-up two-down in Cambridge city centre. For a overview of that, please see this page.

Replacing everything – from the drains to the chimney pots – and laying new foundations, the dilapidated and uninhabitable property was reborn as an airy and contemporary three-storey townhouse.

Whether you need a room repainted, a flat-pack bookcase built, a shelf put up, pictures hung, or a whole flat/home redecorated, I would be happy to help. I pride myself on being punctual, efficient, friendly, and tidy, and I very much look forward to hearing from you.
